About the Warren County Community Foundation
The concept of a Community Foundation is to build substantial endowment funds, over time, for a community through contributions large and small. These contributions are endowed, meaning they are permanently invested to produce income. The income earned is then used to help meet the community's needs. This is how a gift to the Community Foundation can benefit the community now and forever.
What happens once a fund is established?

The gift grows.
Once a gift is invested in a fund, the gift grows over time increasing in value.

Grants are funded.
Each year, grants are made from each fund. Grants are given based on the donors intent and guidelines.

Funds exists forever.
The funds that are created exist forever, unless a donor sets up a different timeline.
The Community Foundation does not usually conduct programs of its own but supports existing programs of other
non-profit organizations and agencies. We can also serve as a natural convener, bringing diverse opinions and players together for the good of the whole community. In this sense, the Community Foundation can also serve as a catalyst for addressing issues facing a community. But a Community Foundation's principal function remains that of serving donors and their community by building permanent endowed funds for philanthropic purposes.
