How to Apply for a Grant
Step 1.
Proposals over $1,500
Pre-application
Letter Review our program guidelines to see if your project meets all of the Foundation’s requirements. If you believe that your project is applicable, please submit a pre-application letter.
Grants over $1,500 must complete the pre-application letter and fill out the grant application form. The pre-application is to be a one page “snap shot” summarizing the proposed project, the targeted group it will benefit, the amount of funding requested, and the projected timeline. The Executive Director will review the letter, and if the project meets the required guidelines and funds are likely to be available, you will be asked to complete the Warren County Grant Application form.
Proposals under $1,500
One Page Proposal
Review our program guidelines to see if your project meets all of the Foundation’s requirements. If you believe that your project is applicable, please submit a one page proposal summary of your project, the targeted group it will benefit, the amount of funding requested, and the projected timeline. The Executive Director will review the letter, and if the project
meets the required guidelines and funds are likely to be available, your project will be forwarded on to the Grants Committee for review. Projects that are asking less than $1500 will need only to submit a one page summary of your project as your application.
Step 2.
Grant Application
After receiving approval to proceed from the Foundation, you will be invited to submit a grant application. Please follow all instructions and submit one copy to the Foundation office by the appropriate deadline. Please do not enclose the application in a binder, folder or report cover. Electronic copies are encouraged!
Step 3.
Review and Approval Process
The grants Committee will review all applications for content and completeness. The Committee will then recommend to the WCCF Board of Directors which applications will be awarded funds. The Board of Directors will vote to approve or request further information.
Step 4.
Notification
The Foundation will notify you of the Board’s decision within ten days following the Board of Directors meeting. Due to the limited availability of unrestricted funds, the Foundation may only award a portion of the grant requests. Well developed proposals are therefore invited to
resubmit a request at a later date suggested by the Executive Director.
